Begin Writing Now

If you are continuing to chat about writing a novel, it is time for you to stop chatting and begin doing. I will give you a summary of how I work with my clients.

I have my client commit to a date 4 weeks from today (yes, I really have them pull out their calendar and choose the date right there and then) and begin to get their outline together for the content. Before anything more is done and before they leave the appointment this part is ready. You, like my clients, already know what you need to write about so the content outline step is easy.

What are my clients ‘ reactions? Yes, you guessed … “YIKES! I want to get in gear and get things going! I’m publishing my ebook in 4 weeks!”

Incredibly, everything always gets done. The content is written, finished, the advertising letter or offer page is finished if they are selling their e-book online and they’ve a list of other promoting sources lined up to help promote the ebook. Interestingly, everything is always simply completed before the start date. I call this being PULLED forward by your selling, instead of being a victim of perfection paralysis or saying I will get around to it later and continuing to waste time.

It is always simpler to start with a finish date and work back to the start of a project. It allows you to plan for adequate time to get everything finished. If you move forward from the start towards the end, something will customarily happen to keep you from staying on track. That very well could be the explanation why you have not been ready to complete your book before now.

I have found using the methodology of moving from the end back towards the starting time to be particularly effective in writing but I have used it for plenty of other event management activities. It is a extremely successful and productive strategy.

Set your date, get started with your creative writing and push towards forward your finish line.
